We have officially sold our house! It took a little longer than expected but we have found the perfect new owners, people who appreciate everything we have done to the house and the garden and will continue loving and raising their children here. We feel so blessed to leave not one but two restored houses behind with the knowledge that they will stand their time and both house lovely people.

The fun begins on the 26th of this month when we’ll drive to Denmark to view a few properties. I still don’t know if it’s wise to rent first and buy later. Our future house will not just be a home for us to live in, it will also be our place of work. We are looking for a property with enough space to build a few holiday cottages, a studio, a function space and possibly a small shop. So it will be a place of business and a home for us. So renting will only push us back in making an income and building our future. Having that said, we only love two properties that almost tick all the boxes so it’s going to be quite tricky.
We want to settle in Faaborg-Midtfyn in a traditional Danish half-timbered house or farm with quite a bit of land for some livestock and a cutting garden. I get so excited writing about this as I still can’t believe that it’s finally happening after all these years of fantasising of a real-life ‘Yves Town’. To be able to live somewhere that suits my style.
