During the year I store fabric scraps in a basket and during November and December I make things for Christmas as I like to make things. It’s something I have been doing since I was a child as my mother also really loves making things. It could be decorations or gifts for friends and family. Anything will do even drawings, Christmas cards and wreaths.
This year I’ve made patchwork stockings using Merchant & Mills fabric scraps. I’ve used Sarah Maker’s Christmas stocking pattern and free-styled with ruffles and pleats. I’ve also made garlands from the beads that I had left over and I trimmed the bushes, hedges and hydrangeas in the garden to decorate the dining room mantle.
Ever last bit of fabric is used to tie around this eucalyptus wreath I’ve made for all the windows.
I’m now officially done decorating the house. It’s time to entertain as we like to host a few pre-Christmas dinners for friends. I will also celebrating my birthday on the 6th and I still have to get some gifts for under the Christmas tree.
Love, Yves xxx
