Chunky Mittens

It’s cold right? Maybe not when you are on the other side of the world, but at my end it’s bitterly cold. I just wanted to go out for my walk but Boris told me off as (in his magical Narnia world) I’d freeze to death and nobody will find me for weeks. He also said that I should call my friend, Sofie, so I wouldn’t be alone. Well poor Sofie she’d be dying with me. Men … alas, I stayed home and bring you super easy and fast to make chunky mittens.

Keep warm xox

Jar Cosies

It’s noticeably getting autumn at my end. It’s been raining quite a lot and the leaves on my trees start to change colour. I love autumn.

Next weekend I’ll be selling my yarn at Supermarkt a creative market in my hometown organised by my friends, Sofie and Annemie. I mainly like to sell my yarn and introduce my upcoming November and December crochet courses for beginners but I also like to show people what they can do with the yarn, like I show you guys.

So I’ve made jar cosies as I like the effect and it’s really fast and simple to make.

You can use jam jars or vegetable jars and turn them into pencil holders, candle lights … They look so warn and cosy right?

Because I’ll be selling these I’ve marked the bottom of the jar with a Yvestown sticker. Everything that doesn’t sell next Sunday will be for sale in the prop shop.

There’s still a sale going on in my yarn shop and you can find the instructions on how to make your own jar cosies over there too.

Hats

I’ve been away, not that I have been away away but my mother is here and I like to spend the 6 weeks a year I get to spend wit her really spending with her. I also had to work as the shopis busy, there were book meetings (I’m going to write a book, more about that soon) and there were a few photo shoots on the premises. All super fun things, but I’ve missed the blog.

I’m back and I come bearing hats. Three wee hats for you to crochet.

Have fun and see you back later xox

ps: the new born hat is totally inspired by Fozzie Bear

ps ps: I’ve re-opened my Etsy shop using it as an outlet. You can buy props and stuff there, like these 3 hats.

Hot Water Bottle Cosy

Thank you SO much for all the amazing comments (and generous donations) on my previous post and the roof fund debacle. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful readers and after all that’s what I want, wonderful readers to share my life with.

As a thank you, for those of you who crochet, I have made this quite simple hot water bottle cosy pattern. It’s not really hot water bottle weather but it seems I always like to do winter projects in summer, one can only be prepared right?

You can find the instructions and the yarn I’ve used as usual in my shop.

Happy Days!!

Mollie Makes Blog Feature

Hello everyone, I’m still here. Calming down after our little company had a really sad, hard and emotional week. But we’ll survive and we’ve learned a great deal about people, businesses and the law. Hopefully
everything will be back to normal by the end of the week so I can focus on my home and blog again.

In the meantime you have to head over to Mollie Makes to read a lovely article they did on me, my crochet and my shop. Oh my shop … you guys have been so good to me, you’ve bought so much over the past few weeks. So many big fat pink bags traveled all over the world. As a treat I’ll have another week of 5% discounts. Use voucher code “mollie makes” upon checkout.

Happy Easter!

I’ll be signing off for the Easter weekend as it will be a busy one. I have to boil 18 eggs and feed 18 people over a period of two days. Later today I’ll be going out for dinner with Anki, Iris and Caroline so I’ll have some relax time before the Easter madness begins.

I’ve made these for my sister, to add a splash of colour, you can find the pattern here.

Happy a lovely Easter, See you after the weekend xox
