What a courageous idea to start new and delete all the old pictures. I hope they are still on Flickr to be admired! You are spreading so much joy with your photos and I am amazed about how positive you are thinking that you can shed all the old pages because beautiful things are lying ahead of you!
You inspired me so today that I moved my blog. I could not delete the old one but I started a new one. i had the feeling I needed to do something in another direction but for three months I did not know how to handle my blogging-block. Now I found out and I am thankful you gave the initial spark!

Hi Yvonne - long time reader, first time commenter :)

This resonated with me SO MUCH - right now my husband and I have thrown everything in (our jobs, our house, our pets, all our belongings) and hit the road to live on the road like gypsy nomads! We don't have any plans or know how long we will be travelling around Australia for. No plan = a good plan for us. 2012 is all about risk, challenges, experiences, jumping in and taking the plunge, letting the tide take us wherever it needs to.

My blog, Cinderella at Brindabella (www.ellaatbella.com), was a conundrum. I was questioning why I even blogged anymore, and as things in our working life slipped out of control (the reason for our big decision to hit the road) I felt my blog wasn't fulfilling and sustaining me creatively as it used it. It became a chore. So I made the decision to 'end' my blog. That was huge for me. It was a huge part of who I was/am - so to step away was a big deal.

But I feel so cleansed, liberated even. We have a new blog, a fresh start and clean slate. Just like you.

Good luck in 2012 - I'm sure it will bring you happiness and fulfillment :)

Gosh what a brave thing to do, and what a complete new start to the new year! I'm toying with the idea of a new start for my blog too. Sad to see it all go though, I usually follow in Google reader, but I just clicked over after seeing your book case make over,as I have spent the holiday painting a dresser.

I didn't believe it for a moment, but it really has all gone. What a way to make a clean slate and a fresh start for a new year! I imagine you have a lovely weightless feeling knowing you can start again. It's rare that we can really start over in life, so good for you for making it happen.
I am just starting a 9 month break from work and have that same weightless feeling of knowing I can empty my head of all the work detail - it's great. I was looking forward to starting to make one of your beautiful crochet starburst blankets this week for my friend who is expecting a little boy in April and the pattern is gone with your tidy up. I've not seen it elsewhere on the web - do you think you might be able to email me the pattern please? Of course I understand if you'd rather not given then new forward momentum for 2012.
For what it's worth, my view is that if you need a clean slate and a clear deck to feel inspired then good for you for creating it. As your readers, we will only get the best from your blog if you feel you can give it the best you have and if a major clearup of the blog does that then so be it!

Ik ben bezig met een Blurb book en ik herinnerde me dat jij daar wel eens wat over gepost had, dus ging ik op zoek naar je posts daarover en vond dit! Als e zo'n nieuwe start maakt zit je vast niet te wachten op vragen over oude posts vermoed ik, maar mocht ik me vergissen dan zou ik je wel willen vragen wat je ervaringen met de kwaliteit van Blurb-books zijn, en met name van het standaard dan wel duurdere papier. Ik twijfel wat ik moet kiezen, vandaar...
Maar goed, mocht je liever met je nieuwe blanke canvas aan de slag gaan, no problem, ik ben benieuwd wat komen zal.

Het is echt weg! Heb je ook geen kopietje ergens? Wat een lef zeg. Ik ben heel benieuwd wat je ons brengt in het nieuwe jaar en ik wens je het aller allerbeste.

Yvonne, heel veel inspiratie en VOORAL gezondheid gewenst in het nieuwe jaar toegewenst. Deze onverwachte nieuwe start dwingt respect af!
(Alleen: ik wilde met mijn kleindochter die schattige bloemetjes van een paar weken geleden maken en die zijn nu foetsie. Ik bedenk daarbij dan maar dat jij ook geen werktekening had, toen jij ze ging maken. Nu ga ik zelf experimenteren. In die zin is jouw besluit een stimulans voor mijn eigen creativiteit en heb ik totaal geen reden me verongelijkt te voelen. En, dat bedenk ik me opeens: je foto's staan ook op Flickr, toch? Zo zie je maar weer: er gloort altijd wel ergens licht!)

That is OK for you but it does show a disregard for your readers - which I assume you do actually want? Many bloggers seem to want all the good parts of blogging and the endless lovely comments but they don't seem to appreciate that readers miss blogs when they suddenly disappear and that it shows that the readers are dispensable. I think we often care more for a blogger than they do for the readers. They can be very fickle and it makes me for one not want to bother reading blogs anymore. The ego seems to be the most important thing rather than a genuine sense of community.

How exciting. I only found your blog in November but can imagine that a few readers will be sad to see all your visual loveliness gone. I'm looking forward to you painting on the blank canvas. Happy New Year. Cx.
