Happy 2017 people! I hope it’s going to be a good one.
Only a month left until we move to our new home. The house is technical in good shape so we don’t need to renovate but we definitely do need to decorate. I do not want to insult the previous owners but they were a bit lost as to what a farm house from 1932 should look like on the inside. Old homes like the one we owned and now are going to own don’t come for sale that often in the city I live, as the trend here is to take them down and use the land to build a new house on. So those old houses are rather famous and their owners become rather famous to. It’s like a crowd and we all know each other. So people are quite excited that we have bought the old clock farm as they know she will be in good hands.
So what’s the first thing we are going to do? Well obviously, build me a proper kitchen.
As we are moving to a farm house we want to go a bit more rustic and rural. I’ve also fallen out of love with very bright flowery colours and plastic. I want to work with whites, pastels, dark blue and pops of vintage faded florals instead.
This kitchen, the people from Jersey Ice Cream Co. designed for one of their clients, sums up how I want the basic design of the new kitchen to be. It obviously needs colour to my taste and some blush pink.
We are going to work with IKEA cabinets and Bo will custom build the shaker style doors. We are going for tongue and groove walls instead of tiles and there is this amazing spot in the new kitchen were I can have a pastry table.
I’m very excited!
