Home & Garden/ Lifestyle

Recently I have been blueberry picking, lavender picking and now the day before yesterday I found myself flower picking. It’s a new trend isn’t it? We all want to be closer to nature, get our stuff fresh and organic and we seem to appreciate the outdoors more.

“None can have a healthy love for flowers unless he loves the wild ones.”

— Forbes Watson

My friend, Caroline, and I went for a spontaneous “picking date” to Pluktuin ‘t Voortje in Mierlo The Netherlands. It looks like the garden I have in my vision when I own an acre of land one day.  It’s beautiful. And although the end of August isn’t so great for flowers, it’s still beautiful.

There are flowers for me and there are flowers for Caroline …

It’s doesn’t matter what shape, size or colour … they are all beautiful.

They are even beautiful when you have them in a vase at home.

Consider flower picking as a healthy, inspiring and educative day out. You’ll learn the names of the flowers, there are bees and butterflies, it’s so inspiring.

I love that you can go somewhere to pick wild flowers. An amazing idea and the flowers you chose are beautiful. I went to the blueberry farm last weekend and picked 5 kg of blueberries, yesterday it was wild blackberry (called brambles here in Scotland) picking. So many this year after a warm summer.
