Duck Goose Hen

Thank you so much for your sweet and thoughtful comments on my previous post. I’m so happy to connect with you and I’m grateful for comments other than giveaway comments, you are all too sweet.

Last weekend, at Selina Lake’s book launch party, I was gifted a box full of pastel coloured spray paints by the lovely Karina and Philippa of PlastiKote.

Even though I need to paint the living room doors and sort out boxes, I couldn’t resist to spray paint something as the cans were luring at me softly whispering: “use me, use me”. Now who can resist the soft whispers of spray paint? So I went for it, something I wanted to do ever since I read this post.

What do you need:

PlastiKote Colour & Twist Spray
Jam Jars
Schleich Farm Life animals
Glue gun
Sanding paper

What do you need to do:

Start by sanding the jam lids, just to roughen them up a bit for better fixation.

Apply glue to the bottom of the animal. Stick, press and hold the animal to the lid.

Take them outside, cover a table with a cloth, place the lid on top of a empty toilet roll and use the spary paint according to the instructions on the can.

That’s it!

I can’t stop, I want to spray paint everything as it’s so easy and quick to dry and the result is just so fabulous.

Don’t panic when you think you’ve put too much of the good stuff on making your Schleich animal look drowned in paint, it will dry up evenly and bring back the details.

Thank you PlastiKote for bringing so much happiness into my life.

Haha I love it! I have three jars that I wanted to spray the lids of too, but I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how I was going to get the paint to under the rims. The toilet roll tip is genius. I love how yours have turned out 🙂 xx

Your mind works in beautiful ways… What if the duck, goose & hen were to hang out in the jar as a snow shaker. What would I use for snow? x

Wat een superidee. Ik heb hier ook plenty potten en evenzovele potentiële inhoud. Strijkkralen, wasco krijtjes. You name it… En leuke beestjes hebben we ook. Zal het ook met ‘gewone’ spuitbussen verf werken?

I’ve seen these everywhere lately but the choice of jars, use of colour, styling and photography here totally elevates your jars above all the others I’ve seen. They are brilliant!
    Happy Easter Yvonne. x

These are so pretty! The colours are lovely.
Tonight, I painted my fireplace, inspired by you! Amazing how it reflects the light now, rather than sucking it in. THe room looks bigger! The fireplace isn’t functional, and unfortunately, it still leaks after numerous attempts to fix it. Until I can try again to fix it, at least the bit facing the room looks nice!! A few more coats and I’m done! Oh, but I’ve noticed the mantelpiece needs painting. And the wall above it… I can see home improvement is addictive!

Thank you for your lovely blog and all the beautiful things you share.

Thinking of you and your husband and his family x
